SUSTAINABILITY

At rfks, sustainability means responsibility – not only towards the environment, but also towards employees, customers and future generations. rfks is therefore taking steps to reduce its environmental footprint and ensure long-term economic, environmental and social sustainability.

rfks’ focus is reaching carbon neutrality in scopes 1 and 2 by January 2026. In 2024, rfks has made several investments to achieve this sustainability goal. This includes the installation of a new photovoltaic system, the conversion of building lighting to energy efficient LED technology and the expansion of the vehicle fleet with electric vehicles.

At the corporate level, rfks has been collecting data for a greenhouse gas accounting of the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) since 2024:

  • Scope 1: direct emissions from combustion processes
  • Scope 2: indirect emissions from purchased energy
  • Scope 3: purchased goods and services, waste, business travel, upstream transport

Based on the CCF, the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) can be assessed at the product level. The calculation method of rfks is follows the ISO 14064.
